Case 02 / Lighting Concept
A pendant lamp rooted in Sykkylven's furniture industry and the visual language of Ekornes' Stressless collection, made from production offcuts from the bent bow that supports the Stressless Classic chair.

The design translates the bent wooden support logic of a classic Stressless base into a warm lighting object built around repeated veneer ribs and a centered bulb. The ribs are made from production waste from the Stressless Classic chair, specifically the bow that holds the chair up.

The final form uses 21 evenly spaced ribs around a vertical axis, creating a pear shaped silhouette that opens at the bottom and narrows toward the top.

The strongest part of the case is the bridge between regional furniture heritage and a new product category: using production offcuts from the bent Stressless Classic chair support and known bending techniques to make a lamp that still feels connected to Stressless.

The lamp was later displayed with Ekornes at a fair in Finland, placed directly inside a Stressless environment. That gives the concept a stronger real-world context: it is not just a school model, but an object that can sit naturally beside the brand it was designed from.
